- Allow approximately 20–30 minutes and answer in your own words.
- New preparers may enter 0 for prior return volume and describe training or transferable experience.
- Do not submit Social Security numbers, passwords, taxpayer files, or unnecessary sensitive documents.
- Be prepared to verify PTIN/EFIN status and credentials later if requested.
- Material omissions or misrepresentations may end candidacy at any stage.
